God's Devil is the story of Peter Donavan, a Catholic priest, whose consuming ambition is to become the first American Pope. In pursuit of that goal he lets nothing stand in his way. Peter is brilliant, charismatic, charming, handsome and wealthy, but he has a dark side.
His journey to the papacy leads to murders, sexual abuse scandals, blackmail, arson, women, vengeance and legal intrigue. The action takes place in Boston, Vatican City, New York, Rome, London, San Paulo, Palm Beach, Paris, Provence and the Himalayan Mountains.
Some will see Peter Donavan as an evil man willing to do anything to achieve his goal and in the process destroy the culture, doctrines and institutions of the Catholic Church. Others will see him as their surrogate, a liberal voice for change, change necessary to bring the Church into the 21st century and make it a moral force against social sins that threaten the world’s health, peace and prosperity.
Many types of priests have made their way into fiction, but none have pursued the papacy with the single minded dedication, finesse and ruthlessness of Peter Donavan. His character is unique to fiction. He will excite and fascinate you from the first to the last page of this gripping novel. God's Devil is a high concept story with an explosive ending.
